WHAT
REIKI IS NOT
Reiki works in conjunction with and as an adjunct to medical and
non-medical treatments and therapies. Reiki is not a substitute
for medical care. Reiki practitioners neither diagnose nor
prescribe for that is the privilege of medical doctors alone.
There is no religious tradition or set of beliefs
associated with Reiki, however, there is a spiritual component.
Belief in Reiki is not necessary to benefit, rather an
individual needs only be willing to experience.
Reiki does not treat disease; rather it assists in restoring
balance to the body. Because Reiki works on multi-levels that
balance may be reflected in any or all of the physical, mental,
emotional, or spiritual levels. Reiki is however not a
substitute for psychotherapy. Nor is Reiki an instant cure.
Reiki is not to be confused with massage.
